Our Process

1. Pick Your Designer

Probably the single most important key to the success of your project is selecting a designer you can comfortably work with. Of course design skill is the primary criteria, but you should also be looking for a great listener, a creative perfectionist and a clever problem solver.

2. Idea Storming

After the first meeting, we will give you some homework, asking you to pull together some pictures that you like from magazines and from our catalogs. We will discuss your current space…likes and dislikes… as well as the vision, aesthetic and functionality of your new space. 

3. Site Measure

All of our designers are pros at measuring…or we work from your architect’s plans.

4. Design and 3-D Cad Renderings

Our designers will provide a full set of drawings and elevations as well as multiple 3-D computer generated renders.

5. Final Decisions on Door Style,Wood,
Finish, Appliances, etc.

This is the fun part, but you will need the guidance of a seasoned designer to help keep the project on budget.

6. Any Changes / Revisions

Flexibility is important…the final tweaks often significantly add to the “WOW!” factor.

7. Cabinet Order Placed

We require a 50% deposit to place your order and all deposits are non-refundable. Fully custom lines take 8-12 weeks but semi-custom ship in much faster.

8. Delivery and Installation

Final payment is due when the shipment leaves the factory. Columbia Cabinets will provide your installer with a complete set of schematics and all necessary information they will need to complete the installation. In addition, we will be available during the process to answer questions pertaining to the project.
